A visit to Munich for Oktoberfest is guaranteed to be the highlight of your Fall Semester and will leave you the envy of all your friends back home. Oktoberfest is the world’s biggest folk festival and the most famous event in Germany.
Attended by over 6 million people, with more than 6 million liters of beer drunk, every new Oktoberfest is certain to be the biggest one yet. Known as “liquid gold”, the German region of Bavaria claims to make the best beer in the world which you can judge for yourself in one of the 14 main beer tents at Oktoberfest each with their own band playing traditional and modern music.
At Oktoberfest you can meet people from all over the world, get into the party spirit by dressing up like a real Bavarian in lederhosen and drindl dresses, eat gigantic pretzels with 15 inch diameters and have heaps of exhilarating fun on the rides in the amusement park.
Be sure not to over look Munich itself with its mix of traditional and modern culture and see why it is regularly voted the most livable city, not just in Germany but in the world.
