The currency in Croatia is the Kuna (HRK). 1 euro = 7.5 HRK. You will find that countries like the Czech Republic and Croatia that are part of the European Union but have not adopted the euro are much cheaper than Florence and northern European cities like Amsterdam and Paris. Eating and drinking in Split is not expensive and mostly you need to budget for the activities that you would like to do while you are there.
It is important that you bring some euro cash at least for when we stop at roadside restaurants to eat. If you don't have an ATM card you will need to bring enough euro for the entire weekend. In Split you will find quite a few places do not accept credit card and also like Italy the minimum transaction will be the equivalent of 10 euro.
FlorenceForFun stays in private apartments that are centrally located and easy walking distance to all of the main attractions, restaurants and bars. The apartments are grouped together into a few streets so you are never far away from your friends. We still provide breakfast at a local restaurant on all three mornings. The center of Split is compact and there are not yet many hotels or hostels that are big enough to host groups. By staying in apartments you have direct access to the center without needing public transport or shuttle services. This allows you to be completely independent for your weekend away.
